We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ciena Optical 6500 Field Engineer to join our team in Delhi. This role involves hands-on field engineering responsibilities focused on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of optical networking equipment, specifically the Ciena Optical 6500 platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DWDM, fiber optic communication, and optical transport networks, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality customer support and technical solutions in a dynamic environment.

What You Will Do
- Install, configure, and commission Ciena Optical 6500 systems and related optical networking equipment in the field.
- Develop, document, and maintain detailed Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for network installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
- Perform network testing, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and reliability of optical transport networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network operations, engineering, and customer support to resolve complex network issues.
- Lead integration and testing processes for new network deployments and upgrades, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and standards.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Provide timely and effective customer support, including on-site technical assistance and remote troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and reports related to network configurations, maintenance activities, and incident resolutions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during all field operations and site visits.
- Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs).
Skills and Experience
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Ciena Optical 6500 platform and optical networking technologies.
- Strong understanding of DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) and fiber optic communication principles.
- Proficiency in Optical Transport Network (OTN), SONET/SDH, and Ethernet protocols and architectures.
- Experience with network installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting in field engineering roles.
- Familiarity with network testing tools and techniques for fault diagnosis and performance monitoring.
- Ability to interpret and create technical documentation, including MOPs and network diagrams.
- Knowledge of network monitoring systems and fault management processes.
Preferred Experience
- Certifications related to optical networking or Ciena technologies (e.g., Ciena Certified Specialist).
- Training or experience in advanced network protocols and emerging optical technologies.
- Experience working in large-scale telecom or enterprise network environments.
- Additional technical certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent networking credentials.
