Role Overview

Senior OpenShift / RHOSP L3 Architect – Telco CNF Role Summary We are looking for a senior OpenShift / RHOSP L3 Architect with strong hands-on experience in architecture, design, deployment and production support of Red Hat OpenShift/OpenStack environments hosting telecom CNFs and applications. The role requires the ability to design solutions, review architecture, lead deployments and independently troubleshoot issues across Telco Application/CNF → OpenShift → RHOSP/OpenStack → Network/Infrastructure layers.

What You Will Do

  • Design and review highly available and scalable OCP/RHOSP architectures for telecom workloads. Define compute, storage, networking, security, resiliency and capacity requirements. Design primary and secondary CNF network connectivity, including Multus/VLAN-based interfaces where required. Review CNF deployment architecture and identify dependencies across application, Kubernetes, RHOSP and network layers. Define HA, failover, upgrade, backup/recovery and operational strategies. Participate in customer architecture discussions and provide technical recommendations and design decisions. Review product requirements and translate them into platform/infrastructure architecture.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift / OCP 4.x at L3 / Architect level. Proven experience in OpenShift architecture and solution design, including cluster topology, HA, networking, storage, security, capacity and resiliency. Ability to prepare/review HLDs, LLDs, deployment architecture, network designs and operational designs. Experience in OCP installation, upgrades, patching, migration, Day-2 operations and complex production troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of OCP networking, including OVN-Kubernetes, Multus, VLANs, routing, Services, ingress/egress and Network Policies. Strong Linux/RHEL, Kubernetes and container troubleshooting skills. Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenStack / RHOSP or OpenStack, preferably OCP running on RHOSP. Understanding of RHOSP architecture including Nova, Neutron, Ceph, OVS/OVN, compute, networking and storage. Experience designing and troubleshooting integrations across OCP, RHOSP and underlying DC/ network infrastructure. Strong understanding of SCC, RBAC, Service Accounts, certificates, secrets and OpenShift security controls. Experience handling production L3 escalations, RCA, upgrades, maintenance activities and customer-facing technical discussions.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, supporting and maintaining telecom applications, VNFs or CNFs on Kubernetes/OpenShift. Candidate must have worked beyond just the infrastructure layer and should understand the operational behaviour of the telco application/product running on the platform. Experience with telecom network functions/products such as 4G/5G Core, IMS, signaling, Diameter platforms, roaming/security, charging, policy, mediation or similar telco applications. Experience in CNF deployment, configuration, upgrade, scaling, HA, failover and production troubleshooting. Ability to troubleshoot issues jointly across application, protocol, Kubernetes and infrastructure layers. Working knowledge of telecom/application protocols such as Diameter, SCTP, TCP/UDP, HTTP/2 and/or SIP. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • 1 Experience using tcpdump/Wireshark and packet-level analysis for production troubleshooting.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Multus, SR-IOV, multiple pod interfaces and high-performance telco networking. Exposure to BGP/BFD, external load balancers and advanced routing. Helm, Operators, GitOps/ArgoCD and infrastructure automation. Prometheus/Grafana and application/platform observability. Experience with stateful CNFs and Ceph/ODF/storage performance. Exposure to telecom vendor products from Mobileum, Nokia, Ericsson, Mavenir, Oracle, Amdocs or similar vendors. Red Hat certifications such as RHCE, RHCA or OpenShift certifications.
  • Experience 10+ years overall experience preferred. 5+ years strong OpenShift/Kubernetes experience preferred. Prior experience as an L3 SME, Solution Architect, Technical Architect or Platform Architect. Demonstrable experience supporting live telecom applications/CNFs in production is mandatory. Key Responsibility Own technical architecture and production issues end-to-end across: Telco Application / CNF → Kubernetes / OpenShift → RHOSP / OpenStack → DC Network / Infrastructure The candidate should be capable of both designing the solution and supporting it in production, rather than being limited to OpenShift administration alone. • • • •
