We are seeking an experienced Telco PCRF/Kubernetes/Openshift Consultant to join our dynamic team in Mohali. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) within telecom environments, combined with strong skills in container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize network functions and services in a cloud-native environment, supporting next-generation 5G and LTE networks.

What You Will Do

  • Develop, document, and maintain detailed Method of Procedures (MOPs) for PCRF deployment, configuration, and maintenance within Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers, developers, and operations to ensure seamless integration of PCRF with 5G Core Network and LTE infrastructure.
  • Lead integration and testing processes for Diameter Protocol interfaces and policy control mechanisms to ensure compliance with telecom standards.
  • Design and implement container orchestration strategies to optimize microservices architecture for network functions virtualization (NFV).
  • Automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools and configuration management frameworks such as Ansible.
  • Monitor system performance using Prometheus and Grafana, proactively identifying and resolving issues related to load balancing, scaling, and performance optimization.
  • Implement network security best practices to safeguard PCRF and associated network components.
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise for complex network and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies in 5G, network slicing, and cloud platforms to continuously improve network function capabilities.

Skills and Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of PCRF and policy control frameworks within telecom networks.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift container orchestration platforms.
  • Proficiency with Diameter Protocol and its application in telecom policy enforcement.
  • Hands-on experience with Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with 5G Core Network components, LTE, and network slicing concepts.
  • Expertise in Linux operating systems and shell scripting for automation tasks.
  • Proficient in YAML for configuration management and CI/CD pipeline creation.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Skilled in monitoring and alerting using Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and API integration techniques.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and their integration with telecom network functions.
  • Ability to optimize load balancing, scaling, and overall system performance.

Preferred Experience

  • Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD) or OpenShift administration.
  • Training or certification in telecom protocols and 5G technologies.
  • Experience with advanced automation frameworks and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Knowledge of additional monitoring and logging tools beyond Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native security frameworks and compliance standards.
